The answer to more leg room and comfort on floorboard equipped H-D Models. Levers move the location of the brake pedal pad while flattening the angle of the pad making it much more comfortable to operate. The amount of extension varies depending on the application, but the result is that your foot is no longer “under” the brake pedal, which is a safety issue, and makes braking easier and more natural.

+1" version of the Kuraykyn brake pedal designed for Harley's without lower fairings WILL NOT WORK on Harley's with the older or newer style lower fairings. The lower fairing impedes the brake pedal. You'll need to select the brake pedal model that says "with lower fairings". They are shorter pedals, yet flatter, and are made to fit with those old style lower fairings.
Further info: If you have the new redesigned lower fairings as seen on 24 and newer models like the Street Glide Ultra and want a +1" extended pedal you can use the SOFTBRAKE extended brake pedal and it fits fine. The Kuryakyn +1" extended pedal will not fit with the new redesigned fairings as it's designed slightly different.

May not be a game-changer for those with the OEM lower fairing, but overall I feel it’s an improvement. Have only ridden about a 100 miles with it so time will tell. I will say that installation was easy overall but will add that once the old one was off and new one on, I had a bit of difficulty getting the whole ensemble back in. The fix was to also loosen up the master cylinder for just a little bit more play and it tucked in nicely then just tighten it back up. Other than that all I did was remover the foot board and the 3 bolts Ryan shows in the video.
I’ve put the extended brake lever on every touring model I’ve owned and it makes a huge difference! Standard OEM brake lever feels like a mid-mount in comparison! One of the very first mods I make on a touring model!
Love it. It’s so much easier to apply break pedal. And since I have a total ankle replacement the original pedal caused me pain.
