The backplate is high-strength synthetic polymer, the same class of material used in high-performance automotive intake manifolds. It’s tough, thermally stable, and chemical resistant, and it’s designed to cut heat transfer to the intake air. Cooler, denser air means more efficient cylinder fill and better performance. A built-in stinger cone guides air smoothly into the throttle body to reduce turbulence.
The kit is 50-state legal and made in the USA. It includes the backplate, a washable filter element, and mounting hardware, so you won’t be buying throwaway filters. Installation is easy and a great DIY job.
This kit comes without a cover. S&S offers a wide range of Stealth cover styles, including the classic Teardrop, so you can finish your intake to match your bike. Or you can use your stock intake cover.
