Alpinestars Tech-Air 3 Sizing Chart
Sizing information is provided by the manufacturer and does not guarantee a perfect fit.
This chart applies to the Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 Canvas and Leather airbag vests. The Tech-Air 3 is designed to be worn over a riding jacket, and can also be worn under a properly fitting jacket. Pick your size based on how you plan to wear it.
1. Wearing it over an Alpinestars jacket
Choose the same size as the Alpinestars jacket you will wear under it. For example, if you wear a size LG Alpinestars jacket, choose a size LG Tech-Air 3.
2. Wearing it over any other jacket
Measure your chest while wearing the jacket (measurement A) and match it to the chart below.

3. Wearing it under a jacket
Measure your chest over a base layer (measurement B) and match it to the chart below. Sizes XS and SM must never be worn under a jacket.

IMPORTANT FIT NOTES:
- When worn under a jacket, the jacket must leave room for the airbag to inflate: about 4 cm (1 5/8 in) of extra space around the chest.
- Under a Tech-Air Ready Alpinestars jacket, wear the same size as the jacket. Under an Alpinestars jacket that is not Tech-Air Ready, the jacket should be one size larger than the Tech-Air 3.
- For any other jacket, the jacket's chest width (A1, measured flat across the chest) must be more than half your chest measurement (A) plus 4.72 in (12 cm): A1 > 0.5 x A + 4.72 in.
- Wearing the system under a jacket that is too tight can cause it to fail or not protect you. Always read the Alpinestars user manual before riding.
HOW TO MEASURE:
CHEST
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, under the armpits, keeping the tape horizontal. Measure over your jacket if you will wear the vest over it, or over a base layer if you will wear it under a jacket.
