The 20W panel goes where the sun is, and the smart OptiMate Solar DUO controller sits by the battery, converting low solar power into high-current pulses that charge and maintain more effectively than a panel wired straight to the battery.
It adapts automatically to lead-acid (STD, AGM, GEL) or 12.8V/13.2V LiFePO4 lithium batteries, charges and maintains by day, monitors by night with almost no draw, and shows charge level on its LEDs. It's a maintainer first: a solar panel keeps a healthy battery topped up, while a plug-in charger will bring a badly run-down battery back much faster. Lithium support is for 4-cell LiFePO4 batteries only.
